Your Privacy, Your Language: How Nyura Speaks Legal in 7 Languages
177 legal translation keys across French, English, German, Spanish, Malay, Hindi, and Chinese — because data protection should never be lost in translation.
Why Multilingual Privacy Matters
Imagine reading a privacy policy in a language you barely understand. You might agree to things you would never accept in your own language. At Nyura, we believe understanding how your data is handled is a fundamental right — not a privilege reserved for English or French speakers. With users across Europe, Southeast Asia, and beyond, we translated our entire privacy policy into all 7 languages Nyura supports.
GDPR and PDPA: Two Frameworks, One Commitment
Nyura complies with both the EU GDPR and Singapore PDPA. Our privacy policy explains both frameworks in detail — in every language. Whether you are exercising your GDPR Article 15 right of access or your PDPA Section 21 access request, the information is right there, in the language you think in. We detail every sub-processor, every data retention period, every legal basis for processing.
The Technical Challenge: 177 Keys across 7 Languages
Translating a privacy policy is not like translating a button label. Legal text must be precise, culturally appropriate, and legally accurate. Our previous implementation used a simple bilingual toggle that only supported French and English. We migrated all 177 text segments to our i18n system using structured keys. Each key has a carefully written translation in all 7 languages, following standard legal terminology for each locale.
Data Transparency as a Design Principle
Our privacy page is not buried in a footer link. It is a first-class page with clear sections, visual indicators, and a trust banner highlighting five core commitments: no ads, no tracking, no data sales, no AI model training with your data, and full data export at any time. Each GDPR right has its own card. Sub-processors are listed transparently. We even show what we never do — absolute clarity about our boundaries.
What This Means for You
Starting with version 4.49.2, every Nyura user sees the privacy policy in their chosen language — automatically. No toggle needed. If your app is set to Hindi, you read about GDPR compliance in Hindi. If you switch to German, the entire policy switches with you. This is part of our mission to make Nyura truly global. We have internationalized 99.5% of the app across 6,700+ keys. The privacy policy was one of the last holdouts. Your data, your rights, your language.
