Travel Module — Flight Tracking, Hotels & Trip Planning
Everything you need to know about Nyura's Travel module — from auto-detecting trips in your inbox to tracking live flight status, CO2 footprint, and packing lists.
Auto-Detect Trips from Emails
The easiest way to populate your Travel module is to forward your booking confirmation emails to Nyura. When you receive a flight, train, or hotel booking confirmation, simply forward it to your personal Nyura email address (found in Settings > Travel > Email Forwarding). Nyura's AI reads the email and extracts all the key details automatically: departure and arrival airports, flight number, check-in and check-out dates, hotel name, and booking reference. Within seconds, a new travel segment appears in your Travel tab — no manual entry needed. The system works with all major airlines, rail operators like Eurostar and SNCF, and hotel chains. If a booking email arrives from a connected Gmail account, Nyura detects it automatically without any forwarding. To connect Gmail, go to Settings > Integrations > Gmail. Live Flight Tracking
Once a flight is in your Travel tab, Nyura connects to live aviation data via AeroDataBox to give you real-time status updates. Open any upcoming flight card and tap 'Track Flight' to see the current aircraft position on a map, the scheduled versus actual departure and arrival times, the assigned gate, and whether the flight is on time, delayed, or diverted. Delay predictions are calculated from historical data for that specific route and time of day — if a flight is frequently late on Tuesday evenings, Nyura flags it before you even leave for the airport. Gate information updates automatically; if your gate changes, a notification is pushed to your phone. The tracking panel also shows the aircraft type and a real-time estimated time of arrival (ETA). Tracking activates automatically two hours before your flight's scheduled departure time, so you don't need to remember to open the app. [SCREENSHOT: The Flight Tracking panel showing a map with the aircraft position mid-route, the ETA countdown, gate number, and a green 'On Time' status badge]
Hotel Enrichment
When Nyura detects a hotel booking in your emails, it doesn't just save the name and dates — it enriches the record using Google Places. Within a few seconds of detection, your hotel card is populated with a cover photo, the Google rating and number of reviews, the full address, a link to open directions in Apple Maps or Google Maps, and the hotel's phone number. If the hotel has a notable feature — rooftop pool, free breakfast, 24-hour gym — those amenities are listed too. Tap any hotel card in your Travel tab to open the detail sheet. From there, you can add personal notes ('Ask for a high-floor room'), set a check-in reminder, or view the hotel's location on a map in relation to your other travel segments. If Nyura couldn't find a match in Google Places (rare for large chains, more common for boutique hotels), you can manually tap 'Enrich Hotel' to trigger a fresh lookup or enter the details yourself. Packing Lists & Timezone Alerts
Three days before any trip, Nyura generates a personalised packing list based on your destination, trip duration, and season. Open the trip detail view and tap 'Packing List' to see the suggestions — categories like Documents, Clothing, Electronics, and Toiletries, each pre-filled with sensible defaults for the climate. If you're flying to Tokyo in December, Nyura suggests a coat and layers; if you're heading to Bali in August, it suggests sun protection and light fabrics. You can add custom items, delete anything that doesn't apply, and check off items as you pack. The list syncs across your phone and the web app. Alongside the packing list, Nyura displays a timezone alert when your destination is more than three hours different from your home timezone. The alert shows the local time at your destination right now, the time difference, and a reminder to adjust your meeting schedule if you have calls during your trip. This is especially useful for long-haul trips across multiple time zones. CO2 Emissions Tracking
Every flight card in Nyura displays a CO2 emissions estimate so you can understand the environmental footprint of your travel. The calculation uses the ICAO methodology: Nyura measures the great-circle distance between the two airports using the haversine formula, then applies an emissions factor that varies by flight type — short-haul flights under 1,500 km have a higher per-kilometre factor than long-haul flights above 4,000 km because they spend proportionally more time in the fuel-intensive take-off and climb phases. The result appears as a coloured badge on each flight card: green for low emissions (under 150 kg CO2e), amber for medium (150–400 kg), and red for high (above 400 kg). Tap the badge to open the emissions detail sheet, which shows the full calculation breakdown and a 'tree offset' figure — the number of mature trees that would need to grow for one year to absorb that carbon. This gives you a concrete, intuitive reference point. Emissions are also summed across an entire trip so you can see the total carbon cost of a multi-leg journey at a glance. Learning Path
New to Nyura? Start with [Getting Started](/blog/getting-started-complete-guide) to set up your account, tasks, and first habits in under 30 minutes. Once your daily workflow is running smoothly, the Travel module adds a powerful layer on top — every trip you take is automatically organised, tracked, and enriched without any manual effort on your part. To get the most out of Travel on your iPhone, check [iOS Features](/blog/ios-mobile-features) for travel widgets you can add to your home screen: a live flight status widget that shows your next departure and whether it is on time, and a trip countdown widget that tells you exactly how many days remain until your next journey. If you travel frequently for work, pairing the Travel module with the AI Assistant is especially effective — ask the assistant 'What time does my flight land tomorrow?' or 'What is the local time in Singapore right now?' and it will answer instantly using your live travel data. The assistant can also help you draft a travel request email, create a pre-trip task checklist, or summarise your upcoming itinerary in a single sentence.
